Tea prices ease at Coimbatore sale

Coimbatore Jan. 30 The total offerings of tea at the weekly auction amounted to 6.32 lakh kg comprising 2.86 lakh kg of tea leaf and the rest dust. Compared to the fair demand during the previous three weeks, the market remained generally easy last week.Both the orthodox leaf and dust ruled easier by Re 1 to Rs 2. Better medium CTC leaf also quoted easier up to Rs 2, the remaining sorts, however, improved by 50 paise to Re 1.

High grown orthodox grades ranged between Rs 68 and Rs 81 while medium orthodox Nilgiris hovered between Rs 43 and Rs 49. Good CTC dust quoted at Rs 52- 59.
