New Delhi Jan 30 US-based civil and defence technology company Raytheon, which is bullish about business opportunities in India, hopes to announce an Indian partner soon, the President, Raytheon Asia, Mr Walter F. Doran, has said.

"We are not new in India and are keen to have a presence in India not in the short but in the long term. The recent reorganisation of Raytheon will help us focus a lot more attention on India," Mr Doran told Business Line.

Over the past year, Raytheon has been evaluating several Indian companies to firm up a tie-up, Mr Doran added. Officials said the tie-up would be a partnership in anticipation of bagging contracts here.

"India has the potential to be one of the largest overseas markets in the civilian and military product side for us," Mr Doran said. The company plans to increase revenues from international sales from around 18 per cent of annual revenue of $23 billion at present to about 25 per cent by 2011.

The company, which also makes air traffic management systems and other equipment for airports, is also closely monitoring the proposed modernisation and upgrade of airports around the country.
