Lakshmi Vilas Q3 net up 61%

Lakshmi Vilas Bank has clocked a 61-per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended December 2006. While the net profit has increased to Rs 3.09 crore (Rs 1.92 crore), its operating profit went up by 137 per cent to Rs 19.03 crore (Rs 8.54 crore). Its total income grew by 37 per cent to Rs 125.25 crore (Rs 91.66 crore). The interest on advances grew to Rs 78.86 crore (Rs 53.11 crore), up 49 per cent.

According to the bank's Chairman, Mr R.M. Nayak, LVB registered a 30.13 per cent year-on-year growth in deposits to reach Rs 4,687.27 crore and its credit portfolio expanded 44 per cent to Rs 3,411.20 crore.
