Amara Raja net rises 40%

Amara Raja Batteries Ltd has reported a 40 per cent jump in net profit of Rs 9.67 crore on net sales of Rs 146.25 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006. During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company reported a net profit of Rs 6.86 crore on net sales of Rs 97.77 crore.
