Fertiliser PSUs may raise retirement age

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Jan. 31

The Department of Fertilisers will place a proposal to increase the retirement age of employees in public sector fertiliser units before the Union Cabinet on Thursday.

The proposal will, however, be limited to the four profit-making companies — National Fertilisers Ltd, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd, Project Development India Ltd and FCI Aravally Gypsum and Minerals Ltd. Together, these four companies have around 9,000 employees.

However, there is no Government decision yet on increasing the retirement age and the Ministries concerned will have to place their respective proposals before the Cabinet, officials clarified.
