Rubber Global trend keeps spot rubber firm Aravindan
On the physical front, sheet rubber moved up to Rs 101 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 100.50 a kg on Tuesday. A tyre major bought the grade at the prevailing levels. The non-tyre sector was also active in the main marketing centres. The trend was mixed.
Futures firm
RSS 4 ruled firm in country's major commodity exchanges. The February contract for the grade finished higher at Rs 104.57 (Rs 103.18), March at Rs 107.11 (Rs 105.80), April at Rs 112.45 (Rs 110.65) and May at Rs 116.40 (Rs 114.72) per kg on NMCE. The total transactions were quoted at 3,050 (2,722) lots and open interest 12,221 (12,021) lots. The March delivery for RSS 4 moved up to Rs 106.90 from Rs 106.07 a kg trading 211 tonnes on MCX. The February futures for RSS 3 rose to 275 Yen (Rs 100.15) from 271.5 Yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade closed better at Rs 102.53 a kg against Rs 101.66 at Bangkok. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 101 (100.50); RSS-5: 96.50 (96); ungraded: 94 (93.75); ISNR 20: 94 (94) and latex 60 per cent: 67.35 (67.35).
