Workshop on fisheries resources

The zonal office of the Fishery Survey of India here is holding a one-day workshop in Kakinada on Friday on the marine fisheries resources in Andhra Pradesh, according to a press release issued by Dr Premchand, the zonal director. He said in the release that the workshop would be held at the State Institute of Fisheries Technology at Jagannadhapuram in Kakinada for the benefit of the fishermen community and to promote diversification of fishing activity. He said the FSI had been mapping the fisheries resources of India since 1976 and there is a lot of unexploited potential.
