Provisioning dents City Union net

City Union Bank's net profit has risen by Rs 1.43 crore to Rs 13.86 crore during the third quarter. Bank sources told Business Line that the bank had incurred a one-time expenditure of Rs 4 crore towards provisioning for gratuity. "This provision makes it appear as if our net is just marginally higher than the corresponding previous period."

Total income rose by 20 per cent to Rs 111.69 crore (Rs 92.93 crore), while total expenses increased to Rs 84.69 crore (Rs 66.83 crore). Interest income increased by 22 per cent to Rs 99.40 crore (Rs 81.92 crore).
