Khaitan Chemicals revenues up 57%

New Delhi Feb. 2 Khaitan Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd, the largest manufacturer in the single super phosphate (SSP) in the country, reported Rs 282.67 crore revenues for the nine months ended December 2006 marking an increase of 57 per cent compared with Rs 179.48 crore for the corresponding period ended December 2005, according to an official release.

The company's operating profit (PBDIT) for the nine months stood at Rs 23.37 crore, an increase of 28 per cent over Rs 18.29 crore in the corresponding period last year, while cash profit stood at Rs 15.44 crore and PAT was Rs 9.76 crore, the release added.

According to Mr Shailesh Khaitan, Chairman & Managing Director of the company, the improved performance is on account of the new capacities created by the company.

"The capacities put up by the company in the past years have now started bearing fruit," he said.
