Tea Mixed trend at Kochi tea sale Our Bureau
Best CTC fetched Rs 63-70, medium CTC ranged between Rs 52-60, while below medium was quoted at Rs 46-50. High grown BOPD fetched Rs 70-115, medium BOPD was at Rs 48 and secondaries realised Rs 39-43.
Leaf sale
Good general demand propped up the price of most leaf tea varieties which had 2,57,000 kg on offer. Good quality high grown broken and fannings were steady to dearer. Price of medium primary orthodox varieties eased while medium whole leaf grades remained dearer. Secondaries remained dearer following quality. Best Nilgiri varieties were quoted at Rs 85-105, medium orthodox at Rs 45-70 and plain orthodox at Rs 42-43. Best CTC leaf fetched Rs 51-55, while medium CTC ranged at Rs 47-52.
Top prices
The top price among the dust varieties was quoted by Kodanad BOPD at Rs 115, followed by Pasuparai FD at Rs 90, Pasuparai SFD at Rs 85 and Vigneshwar SFD at Rs 80. In the leaf segment, Havukal OP quoted the top price of Rs 186, followed by Havukal FOP at Rs 158, Quinshola FOPS at Rs 160 and Chamraj FOP at Rs 141.
