New Projects Vision Lens production plant at Kochi Our Bureau
Set up at an investment of over Rs 5 crore, the plant is equipped with complete imported technology from Germany, France and Switzerland and will have a production capacity of 4,00,000 high tech spectacle lenses per annum. Kochi plant is third such plant in India after Kolkata and New Delhi and it would act as an export hub for the West Asia. The fourth such plant will be opened in Mumbai this month to cater to the western India market, Mr Lalit Kumar Gupta, Director, Marketing said at a press meet. The opening of the plant in Kochi, being the first of its kind in Kerala, is a step in the direction to expand the market for premium quality spectacle lenses in this region as it would offer a wide range of spectacle lenses to opticians in Kerala with advanced lens products in rapid delivery time, he added.
