The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority is undertaking a strategic initiative, including enhancing flight capacities of its national carrier, to boost business and leisure tourism from western India. Kicking off a roadshow in Pune, Mr Vijaye Haulder, Deputy Director, Mauritius Tourism said that MTPA was moving beyond its metro-centric focus to emerging source market in growing B-cities. Ahmedabad and Baroda are next on their list. In addition to granting 60-day visa on arrival, Air Mauritius beginning April, will enhance weekly flights from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai to six a week. An additional flight will also be introduced from Mumbai in May.
