Bangalore Feb. 6 The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has expressed concern at the proposed Karnataka Bandh call given by certain organisations on February 8 to protest against the award given by the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

In a statement, the Chamber has appealed to the Chief Minister, Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy, to persuade the bandh organisers to put it off by a few days in view of the Aero India 2007 so that the visitors from abroad and within the country could attend the show without any inconvenience.

"While the BCIC appreciates and shares the concerns expressed in various quarters about the water sharing award, we are equally concerned about the serious implications to the image of the State by the proposed bandh during the Aero show which is in progress with large number of delegates and participants from many countries taking part in it," the BCIC said.
