Natural vanilla in ice creams

Our Bureau

Kochi, Feb. 7

The usage of natural vanilla in ice creams is gaining acceptance among ice cream manufacturers as more and more companies had started using it for flavouring instead of synthetic vanilla. Mr Paul Jose, Managing Director of Vanilla India Producer Company Ltd, said that as many as 12 leading ice cream manufacturing companies including Amul, Mother Dairy and Milma, have now shifted to natural vanilla for flavouring ice creams and this would help vanilla growers to come out from the financial crisis due to fall in prices. If the Government initiated measures to stop the usage of synthetic vanilla in food products, the growers would get fair prices for their products, he added.
