Muthoot Capital Q3 net up

Muthoot Capital Services Ltd has recorded a 144 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 70.26 lakh (Rs 28.78 lakh) for the third quarter of the current fiscal. The company posted a 137 per cent growth in profit before tax at Rs 106.40 lakh (Rs 45.02 lakh). It provided Rs 36.14 lakh towards taxes for the period. For the nine months ended December, the company reported a 137 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 158.27 lakh (Rs 66.89 lakh). The company provided Rs 81.45 lakh towards taxes during the first nine months. Its profit before tax grew by 130 per cent to Rs 239.72 lakh (Rs 104.13 lakh).

Speaking about the result, Mr. Thomas George Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Pappachan Group, said, "We are very happy with the exponential growth Muthoot Capital Services Ltd has reported, as a result the company has initiated steps for expansion by increasing its branches in the southern states of India". The shares were down 1.2 per cent on the BSE and closed at Rs 33.
