AI merger: Indian awaiting Accenture report

Bangalore Feb. 7 Indian is awaiting a report from Accenture which is working on the merger between the airline and Air India on the blueprint for merger.

The Indian Managing Director, Mr Viswapati Trivedi, told newspersons that once the report from Accenture is handed over to the airline, milestones leading to the merger can be set up.

He said new wages for Indian employees will not pose a problem.

"I had my first meeting with the Air Corporation Employees Union yesterday. We plan to have more meetings shortly," he said.

Leasing 777-800

Mr Tripathi said the airline will be leasing a 777-800 from Air Express for a period of six months and plans to identify routes for its deployment.
