New Delhi Feb. 8 Reversing the trend of the Indian real estate players going abroad for selling properties, Dubai based Al Fager Information and Services (AFIS) plans to organise property fairs in India to offer international projects to Indians.

Beginning in April this year, the company plans to organise an international real estate exhibition every year in the Capital.

"Indians form the biggest group of real estate purchasers in Dubai. The exhibitions will not only offer international properties to Indians but also present the global real estate players an opportunity to invest in India," said Mr Iqbal Siddiqui, Exhibition Manager, AFIS. The event will also present an opportunity for Indian players to learn from international developers.

The fair will see participation from countries such as the UK, Australia, the UAE and Qatar.

Why India?

The market in India for real estate would grow to $60 billion by 2010 and to $90 billion by 2015, according to the company, which presents the participants with a lot of opportunity.

However, the fair will offer only real estate projects this year and will start including other allied sectors such as tiles, sanitary-ware and upholstery from next year.

The company also plans to bring an international exhibition on retail to India in 2008-2009.

Al Fager organises 27 fairs in various locations including Doha, Pakistan Tanzania and Johannesburg.
