International medical equipment manufacturer B. Braun Medical India Private Ltd has set up its production cum R&D facility at Mahindra World City, near Chennai, according to a press release. The facility will manufacture equipment catering to areas such as anaesthesia, intensive medicine, cardiology, extra corporeal blood treatment and surgery. It will also manufacture the advanced right heart catheters that was until now being manufactured only in the US, said the release. Over $3 million has been invested in the facility and the company plans to invest in other avenues to expand its operations in India, the release added.
