PSL's newly commissioned Jaipur unit is part of the process of demobilising the company's Nanichari unit in Ahmedabad. The Jaipur plant is a greenfield project using machinery taken from the demobilised Ahmedabad unit. "We agreed with L&T to demobilise the unit to Jaipur and we are in a position to service energy companies such as ONGC, GAIL India, Cairn Energy etc, whose projects are likely to materialise in Rajasthan soon," said Mr Ashok Punj, Managing Director, PSL Ltd. The company also proposed to add 75,000 tonnes capacity in Jaipur either through demobilisation of an existing plant or acquisition of a plant, if available, Mr Punj said, adding that investment in the new mill would be about Rs 25 crore. This will take the company's total capacity in the region to 1.5 lakh tonnes per annum. The company manufactures pipes to meet requirements from all sectors including the oil and gas sector. The mills are equipped with internal and external pipe-coating facilities to meet the technical requirement of the oil, gas and water sectors in conformity with international specifications. The company has facilities at Kandla and Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
