Swiss cookware co's expansion drive

Alfa Metal Craft (AMC), an international surgical steel cookware company based in Switzerland, plans to invest € 3 million to expand its operations in India, according to Mr Robert Humbel, CEO and Chairman of the international executive board, AMC International.

The company, which specialises in surgical steel cookware for oil-free and water-free cooking, plans to invest in marketing, training and brand awareness. The prices of products range from Rs 9,000 to Rs 55,000, he said. AMC has invested € 2 million in Bangalore unit, which now assembles 50,000 pieces every year. Mr David R. Stanley, CEO, AMC Cookware (India) Pvt Ltd, said the company's products are available in the South, even in tier two cities such as Salem, Madurai and Coimbatore. Its expansion would be in the western and northern regions.
