Rupee ends flat

The rupee ended flat and moved during the day in the narrow range of 44.10-44.13. The currency opened at around 44.13/1350, to close at 44.12/1250, against Wednesday's close of 44.12. "There was strong demand for dollars from oil companies and the Reserve Bank of India was also seen in the market, buying dollars," said a dealer at a private bank.

The dollar was strong against the yen. "The rupee is likely to trade in the range of 44.8-44.16 in the coming days,"he said. The six-month forward premia closed at 3.27 per cent (3.09 per cent) and the one-year at 3.02 per cent (2.9 per cent).
