Bangalore Feb. 9 Raytheon Company has signed a memorandum of intent with Tata Power's Strategic Electronics Division to seek collaboration in areas of complementary expertise and experience. This was a first step towards forging new relationships with a range of Indian technology companies, Raytheon said.

The electronics division of Tata Power is seen as a good fit with Raytheon's core business, said Mr Wes Motooka, Vice-President for international business development at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. Raytheon has conducted business in India for many years, "We are now looking to develop our relationship and presence here in a more meaningful way over the long term," he said. Mr Rahul Chaudhry, CEO of Tata Power SED, said the association would help it to leverage the offset and other business opportunities.
