The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday gave its approval for computerisation of district and subordinate courts at a cost of Rs 441.80 crore in the first phase. The main objective of computerisation is to enhance judicial productivity qualitatively and also to make the justice delivery system affordable, accessible, cost-effective, transparent and accountable. The first phase of the project will be implemented in two years. The whole project is likely to be completed in three phases. The second and third phase will cost Rs 225 crore and Rs 174 crore, respectively.
