Chennai Feb. 13 Three Japanese trade delegations are scheduled to visit Chennai over the next fortnight. They are from the Japanese External Trade Organisation, the Japan Machinery Association and the Osaka Prefecture Economic Mission.

Disclosing this at a seminar on SMEs organised here by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Consul General of Japan in Chennai, Mr Yoshiaki Kodaki, said that the members of the Osaka Prefecture in particular "want to survey the possibility of" investing in Tamil Nadu. Mr Kodaki noted that many Japanese SMEs face the challenge of finding successors to run businesses because the Japanese society itself is aging.
