New Delhi Feb. 13 Mayur Suitings, the suiting and shirting brand of RSWM Ltd, from the LNJ Bhilwara Group stable, said that it has embarked on an aggressive expansion plan to strengthen its brand presence in the country. "We plan to undertake several initiatives over the next two to three years, to make Mayur an affordable and favoured brand in the country," said Mr Riju Jhunjhunwala, Joint Managing Director, RSWM Ltd. The company plans to not only introduce new variants and fabric lines in its current portfolio but is also looking at introducing its ready-to-wear range in the next six to eight months.

"Currently, the brand has 100 distributors and is retailed through around 1,500 authorised outlets across India. We plan to increase the numbers of distributors and retail points drastically in the coming years, though we have not set a fixed number," Mr Jhunjhunwala said.

Brand ambassador

The company also named Bollywood star Salman Khan its new brand ambassador. "We are proud to have Salman Khan as our brand ambassador, who is the perfect fit for the brand and enjoys a great aspirational connect with consumers across all segments," Mr Jhunjhunwala added.

Following the announcement, Mayur Suitings will roll out a complete 360 degree marketing campaign through the print, radio and television medium. The new television ad featuring Salman Khan will be aired soon. The company also plans to hike its ad spend by 50 per cent from the current Rs 7 crore per year.

Mayur Suitings, which is currently a Rs 100-crore brand, hopes to clock turnover of Rs 300 crore in the next three years.
