Mumbai Feb. 13 Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has launched Kotak Emerging Equity Scheme, a 3-year close-ended equity growth scheme, which aims to generate long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio of equity and equity-related securities. The investment will be predominantly in mid and small cap companies.

The new fund offer will be open till March 12. The minimum investment is Rs 5,000. The scheme will focus on identifying winning "themes" over the long term.

It will look at themes such as emerging businesses, embedded value, unlocking of Intellectual Property Rights, restructuring/turnaround of stocks that are under-researched and under-owned by institutional investors and superior growth in sectors for identifying investment opportunities.

"Kotak Emerging Equity Scheme will follow a fundamentally driven bottom-up approach in identifying and investing in stocks that have the potential to grow manifold," said Mr Sandesh Kirkire, CEO, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company.
