"Ours is a beginning to end solution," he added. A country where flying has been considered the hobby of the affluent, ASA, by inducting young Indian aspirants with a basic qualification of 10+2 and helping them get bank loans for the course and also helping them with getting US visa for the 8-month training programme there, claims to be the only company which has an office in India in joint venture with the principal in the US. "Other training schools only have agents in India," he said. Addressing a press conference on the occasion of the launch of the institute's Hyderabad centre, Mr Arvinder Singh said the 5-year-old ASA was one of the 12,000-odd flying schools in the US. Right now, it has eight offices in India and hopes to raise it to 20 by the year-end.
SPECIAL SCHEME
ASA offers the Indian Special Flight Training Program , which is of 8-10 months duration, designed specifically to meet all DGCA (Director-General of Civil Aviation) requirements, including 200 hours of flying. The company has a tie-up with Kingfisher Airlines. The company is looking at a figure of 1,100 flying hours by this June end.
