Rubber Buyers resist high prices for rubber Aravindan
Sheet rubber RSS 4 finished unchanged at Rs 97.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as major manufactures stayed away from the grade. The trend was mixed, while most of grades moved down on bearish international advices.
Futures weak
The rubber futures turned weak under global influence. On NMCE, the February contract declined to Rs 97.90 (99.90), March to Rs 99.51 (101.21), April to Rs 104 (105.99) and May to Rs 109 (110.95) per kg for RSS 4. The turnover was 2,716 (3,396) tonnes and open interest 13,733 (13,683) tonnes. The market opened better but declined later on long liquidation. The March contract for RSS 4 fell to Rs 100.01 from Rs 101.45 a kg (138 lots) on MCX. The March futures for RSS 3 closed at 284 Yen (103.46) a kg against 284.5 Yen at TOCOM. RSS 3 (spot) slipped to Rs 109.14 from Rs 109.91 a kg at Bangkok. Spot rubber prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 97.50 (97.50); RSS-5: 94.50 (95); ungraded: 92.50 (93); ISNR 20: 93 (93.25) and latex 60 per cent: 65.75 (65.75).
