GLIM achieves 100% placement

The Chennai-based Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) achieved 100 per cent placement for its third batch of management graduates, according to the institute's Executive Director, Prof S. Sriram.
Cognizant Technology Solutions, the US-based IT company with development centres in India, made the highest offer of Rs 17 lakh a year to a graduate with seven years experience in the software industry. The average salary this year increased to Rs 9 lakh as against Rs 7.3 lakh last year, he told newspersons.
A total of 63 companies (compared with 23 last year) made 244 offers to 154 students in the campus recruitment this year. Out of the total companies, 61 per cent was from the IT industry, 16 per cent from banking, financial services and insurance, 16 per cent from FMCG and manufacturing and the rest 7 per cent from consulting.
Some of the companies that visited the institute include British Petroleum, Frost & Sullivan, Computer Sciences Corporation, Hong Kong Shanghai Bank, Grow Talent, Langham Capital, Accenture and Pioneer Investment, he said.
