Outsourcing
Our Bureau
The Chief Executive Officer of Nipuna, Mr Vekatesh Roddam, told Business Line that the global outsourcing model is undergoing significant transformation where vendors are seeking integrated solutions providers and long-term association. The relationship is changing from a vendor to a partner for long-term engagement. The deals too have begun to get larger from $5-10 million to $20-30 million and the engagement is spread over a period of three to five years. The company has grown to over 3,000 people within three years across three centres in India at Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore and representative centres in the US and Belgium. It is looking at expanding operations in Budapest and China, to be closer to some of the clients it services in the respective regions. As it expands its operations and the nature and scope of engagement with clients, it expects to grow its headcount to about 5,000 people from 3,000 now across its centres, he said. "For a company, which is part of a global organisation with over 55 centres, entering into a new region could be much faster. For instance, wherever Satyam has a big presence and there is demand for Nipuna services, we would be able to swiftly ramp up and offer services," he explained.
