Coimbatore Feb. 15 The Chairman of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Dr Damodar Acharya, has called upon the students to be "innovative, think out of the box and enjoy the life-long learning experience'', to negotiate the challenges of the future.

Delivering the Graduation Day address at the Seventh Convocation of the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology at Sathyamnagalam near Erode, he appealed to the students to become entrepreneurs. "Indian entrepreneurs success rate is quite high and this region is known for its entrepreneurial skills.''

While encouraging students, Dr Acharya stressed the need for re-engineering the technical education to meet global requirements.

According to him, the country's demographic profile is favourable with more than 50 per cent of the population below 25 years of age. The AICTE Chairman stressed the need for greater focus on basic sciences, communication and soft skill techniques.
