Spot rubber stays steady

Kottayam Feb. 17 Spot rubber ruled almost steady on Saturday. The sentiments remained neutral with extremely thin volumes since the trend setting overseas markets were closed on weekend holidays.

Sheet rubber settled flat at Rs 96.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Friday. Futures weak

The futures market surrendered Friday's gains partially on profit booking at higher levels. The March contract for RSS 4 slipped to Rs 100.41 from Rs 100.98 a kg on MCX.

The March contract for the grade moved down to Rs 99.60 (100.49), April to Rs 104.80 (105.39), May contract to Rs 109.30 (109.99) and June to Rs 112.50 (113.49) a kg on NMCE.

Physical prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 96.50 (96.50); RSS-5: 94.50 (94.50); ungraded: 92 ( 91.50); ISNR 20: 92.50 (92.50) and latex 60 per cent: 65.25 (65.25).
