Pakistan's strategic links

Diplomats from 40 countries were recently briefed about the geo-strategic location of Pakistan on the world map and the significance of its ports. The briefing was done at Port Qasim by the Chairman of Port of Qasim Authority. The objectives of the national trade corridor improvement plan for improving efficient transport links, simplification of procedures, Customs reforms to boost exports were also explained. The diplomats were informed that, with the deepening and widening of the channel to achieve 15 m draught and installation of night navigation facility, the handling capacity of the port would increase substantially by more than 100 per cent.
