Darmona gets Rs 104/kg at Coonoor tea sale

Coonoor Feb 18 Darmona Estate created history at the auctions of the Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) here when it fetched the year's highest price of Rs 104 a kg among all the CTC teas from bought-leaf factories.

In all, some seven brands fetched more than Rs 80 a kg and more than two dozens fetched over Rs 70 a kg in a market where prices looked up following the low quantity and high quality of the teas on offer creating a lot of interest among the buyers.
