Tea Orthodox dust tea dearer at Coimbatore sale Our Bureau
There was fair demand for both the orthodox leaf and dust. High grown whole and larger leaf grades ruled steady to dearer, while others remained irregular, quoting lower by Rs 2-3 a kg. Small quantities of medium orthodox leaf barely remained steady. Shippers to CIS countries operated on well-made teas. HLL was selective on larger leaf grades while Iraq exporters remained silent for the third consecutive week. Limited quantities of orthodox dust, especially the medium primary grades sold at firm to dearer levels by a rupee, others witnessed irregular market. High grown orthodox quoted between Rs 82 and Rs 92 a kg while the best CTC dust ranged between Rs 58 and Rs 64.
