New Delhi Feb. 19 A possible expansion in ties between the US-based oil major Chevron Corp and Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) in the country's upstream and downstream energy could be on the cards, when the Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive, Mr David J. O'Reilly, starts his visit to India.

Mr O' Reilly starts his official four day trip to India from Tuesday. Industry sources said that the Chevron chief is expected to meet Reliance executives later this week, including Mr Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, RIL, at Jamnagar on February 23. Chevron's Indian unit, Chevron India Holdings Pte Ltd holds a 5 per cent stake in Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL).
