The initiative - called M-ticketing - was unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday and makes use of a mobile ticketing solution called JetWallet. JetWallet was designed by C-Sam Inc, a company headquartered in Chicago with offices in Mumbai and Baroda. The application took almost a year to develop but the investment costs were not revealed. Jet Privilege members with a GRPS-enabled phone can download the JetWallet application on their Hutch phones. The application can then be used to book tickets in a manner similar to online booking. Once the transaction is complete, an e-ticket will be emailed to the customer's preferred email address. The service is currently offered for domestic flights and is rupee denominated. Mr Gaurang Shetty, Vice-President, Marketing for Jet Airways, said the service would be extended to other mobile phone providers in the future, but for now the offer remains an exclusive one for Hutch subscribers.
