New Delhi Feb. 21 The first 500-MW thermal power generating set manufactured by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has completed 20 years of operations at NTPC's Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station in Uttar Pradesh.

The equipment had been designed, engineered, manufactured, tested, supplied, erected and commissioned by BHEL and had led to several repeat orders, the company said in a statement.

BHEL said it now has plans to launch indigenously manufactured 800-MW thermal sets.
