APTransco has mobile alert facility

Hyderabad Feb. 21 APTransco today announced the launch of e-Vaaradhi, a value-added service on mobile network, first introduced by the Eastern Power Distribution Company (EPDCL).

This service was launched by Ms Rachel Chatterjee, Chairman and Managing Director of APTransco, and provides information on billing, and handles registration of meter and supply related complaints and other issues. She suggested that this service be extended to other distribution companies.

According to a statement from APTransco, the CMD of EPDCL, Mr Praveen Prakash, said that two agencies were selected for providing value-added services - Cellebrum Pvt Ltd, and Spanco Telesesystems.

COVERAGE

Cellbrum, which provides services to Spice Telecom, Idea, Indian Airlines, and ICICI Bank, will provide services in three districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.

In another deal Spanco Telesystems, Mumbai, which provides services to Citbank, Bank of Baroda, among others will provide services for two districts of East Godavari and West Godavari.

In both these arrangements, no upfront cash is to be paid by EPDCL. The agencies have been provided with three-year contract and plans are afoot to extend service of billing alerts, power shut down information in specified areas.
