Hyderabad Feb. 21 The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is set to launch its IT-enabled services through implementation of new ERP product for reducing the non-revenue water.

The aim is also to bring in new services such as online applications, grievance redressal and anytime-anywhere bill payment options. As part of the programme and to reorient its employees towards customer focused objective, the board has organised a workshop on IT enablement at its Metro Staff Training Center (MSTC) here.

The Managing Director of HMWSSB, Dr K.S. Jawahar Reddy, IAS, emphasised the need for quick adoption of IT-enablement process in the context of meeting customer demands and improving operational efficiencies.

He advised the senior officials of the board to actively associate and eventually own up the process of implementation across the organisation, according to a press release here. The launching of new ERP products, he said, would make the board customer-centric.

`OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY'

Mr Y. Subrahmanyam, Managing Director, CoOptions Technologies Ltd (IT Partners), said the implementation of new ERP product, would enable the HWMSSB to re-engineer its existing processes for improving operational efficiencies and real time response to customers.

The solution would aim predominately to address the concerns of the citizens besides increase in revenues to improve the infrastructure through redeployment of the funds.

By mapping the citizen information from other government departments such as municipalities and registration department, the board would be in a better position to manage and augment its resources, thereby eliminating the deficiencies.
