He said at a press meet here on Thursday that there was great demand for transmission towers and only a few factories were manufacturing them.

CAPACITY

"We have a modern factory on three acres at Khurda Road with a monthly capacity of 6,000 tonnes. We are starting commercial production from April and we expect the sales turnover to touch Rs 200 crore during the first year itself," he said.

He said the company had spent Rs 20 crore on setting up the plant. It had already supplied, installed and commissioned 33 kV transmission towers and high-mast lighting poles for various central government offices and PSUs, he said.

Another group company, SP Associate Pvt Ltd, manufactures solar lanterns, solar home lighting systems, solar street lights and solar water heating systems. The company has tied up with BHEL for supply of these equipment, he said.
