WPP merges Bates Asia with David

Mumbai, Feb. 22

WPP continues to consolidate its networks in India by merging the Indian operations of Bates Asia with David, O&M India's second agency network.

According to a statement released on Thursday, the new entity will be named Bates David Enterprise. Mr Subhash Kamath will be the CEO while Mr Mohammad Khan will be Chairman. Mr Josy Paul, who was Chairman and Creative Director of David, has decided not to be part of the new entity. The merger would likely be completed in two months and there are no plans to trim the staff, the statement said.
