Kochi Feb. 23

HDFC Standard Life Insurance, which is expanding its reach across the country, has augmented its presence in the city of Kochi by inaugurating its regional office. This will be the second office of HDFC Standard Life Insurance in Kochi, where the company started its operations in 2002. The Kochi region of HDFC Standard covers the entire State of Kerala and the office has 61 branches under its control.

The company has a strong presence in South India and is confident about a strong performance during the current year. According to Mr Deepak M. Satwalekar, CEO and MD, HDFC Standard Life: "The Company wants to be as close to its end customers as possible and wants to ensure complete customer convenience. We felt the need to increase our spread in the city because of its growing potential, and hence opening up a Regional Office was an obvious choice."

This launch is in line with the company's strategy of strengthening its presence across the country to consolidate its position in the life insurance business in India. Nationally the company continues to have one of the widest reach among private life insurance companies with 341 branches in India, a press release issued here said.
