HDFC Bank signs MoU with Tata Pipes

HDFC Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Pipes to offer credit facilities to farmers across the country. The credit is for purchase of pipes (from Tata Pipes) for irrigation.HDFC Bank will use Tata Pipes' pan-India distributor network under the agreement, said a joint release from the two partners. The arrangement would help farmers overcome the problem of severe water shortage, the release added. "Our bank's association with Tata Pipes takes our rural thrust one notch further up," said Ms Neena Singh, Executive Vice-President and Business Head, (retail agri business), HDFC Bank.
