Gujarat Gas opts for stock split

Gujarat Gas Co Ltd has decided to sub-divide the equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each into equity shares of Rs 2 each. In a notification on its Web site, the NSE said Gujarat Gas has informed the exchange that the company's board meeting hasapproved the proposal of sub-division of equity shares from the present nominal value of Rs 10 per share to Rs 2 per share.

The decision is subject to approval of the shareholders at the AGM to be held on April 30, 2007, and approvals and sanctions as may be necessary from the regulatory authorities. The share price of Gujarat Gas closed at Rs 1,301.20 on the NSE on Friday.
