Visakhapatnam Feb. 25 Anoo's, which offers specialised services in beauty care for women since 1980s, is now upgrading its parlours to offer such services for men too, according to Ms Anuradha, one of the directors.

Addressing a press meet before inaugurating of the upgraded Anoo's beauty parlour at Dwarakanagar here on Saturday afternoon, she said Anoo's had started out as a small home-based enterprise in the eighties in Hyderabad and at present it had branches in nine locations, eight in the country and one in the US.

Ms Anuradha said it was established by four sisters - Anuradha, Annapurna, Anupama and Anirudha - all alumni of the Christine Valmy Beauty School, New York. Anoo's, she said, is offering clinical services in the areas of weight management, laser hair removal, hair growth, spa and skin care.

She said Anoo's was also producing many herbal cosmetic products, certified by qualified dermatologists and the Ayurvedic Council of India. "Our herbal products are fetching us Rs 3 crore. We are at present earning Rs 11 crore through our services. We want to increase the turnover to Rs 20 crore with the upgradation of branches this year," she said.

Ms Anuradha said the upgraded Anoo's parlour would be inaugurated in Vijayawada next month. "In future, we want to appoint franchisees too to expand our operations. We have a beauty school in Hyderabad, which measures up to international standards. We will set up such schools in other centres. The biggest challenge for us has always been getting the right kind of personnel," she explained.

Ms Anuradha said Anoo's was also contemplating an IPO in future to finance its further expansion plans.
