Tea Marketing - Brands 46 tea brands fetch more than auction average P.S. Sundar
According to the latest issue of "Tea News" released by the Tea Board and UPASI Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the average price was Rs 46.91 a kg. Darmona Estate Special got the highest combined price of Rs 86.80 a kg. Of this, the leaf grades averaged Rs 80.10, while the dust grades, Rs 99. This was the only brand that fetched more than Rs 80 a kg. Darmona Estate brand came second at Rs 78.27 followed by Hittakkal Speciality at Rs 73.23, Highfield Estate Special at Rs 72.98 and Homedale Estate at Rs 71.88. All others fetched below Rs 70. Of them 24 brands got prices ranging from Rs 60 to Rs 69.
