Delhi-based Matrix Cellular Services Pvt Ltd has decided to resolve this issue by providing a telecommunication solution for domestic and international use. Claiming to be the first to introduce the concept of local connectivity, The Managing Director of Matrix Cellular, Mr Gagan Dugal, told Business Line that by offering country-specific mobile connections, Matrix ensures that the traveller stays in touch without worrying about astronomical mobile bills. "Since the connections are local to the country, the user enjoys better coverage and connectivity." Matrix has, in just over a decade, emerged as an undisputed leader in cellular phone rentals in India by enabling individuals, corporate and foreign missions of all sizes to stay connected by using the company's cellular phone network. He said, "We provide you with country-specific mobile connections provided by networks in that country at the most economical tariff with the facility of paying in Indian rupees ." The company provides country-specific mobile numbers for 32 countries globally. Matrix, he said, acts as the travellers' telecom consultant by suggesting the communication solution to suit the user's needs. Mr Dugal explained that the traveller would be able to take a local mobile number of the visiting country before leaving his home country, screen out unwanted calls, carry a pre-activated SIM card with a post-paid option. Matrix has tied up with Jet Airways, British Airways, Citibank, American Express, Deutsche Bank, Standard Charted Bank amongst others to offer its services to their preferred members and customers. A privilege member of British or Jet airways also gets to earn reward points/miles for what he spends with Matrix.
World Cup Packages
Matrix is also planning to offer unique packages for people travelling to watch the World Cup. "We will be working with SOTC for offering their clients special deals for the World Cup," Mr Dugal said. He further pointed out that the number of people travelling abroad grew has grown by 15 to 20 per cent year-on-year. The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation has put the number of travellers at 22.36 million. One-stop solution The company, he said, offers one-stop solution for all communication needs, be it international SIM cards or SIM cards for India, for use on a permanent or rental basis or wireless walkie talkies.
