Mr K.V. Kamath, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank, says the Budget measures are aimed at actively removing bottlenecks and ensuring stability in the growth process.

In accordance with these objectives, agriculture and rural development, infrastructure, education and urban development programmes have been given priority with increased funding and other supportive policy measures.

Recognising the importance of stimulating agricultural growth, the Budget provides significant support to farmers. Measures aimed at improving agricultural production cover wide ground, ranging from bank credit to irrigation and training and education. These measures, along with rural development programmes, will increase investment in rural areas, especially in agricultural sector.
