Farm focus

For the first time, a Finance Minister has paid much-needed attention in the Budget to the farming sector, though much of the impact will depend on efficient delivery mechanisms.

Not including bio-diesel in the Central excise net is also a welcome move, as is the concern for climate control and global warming.

All senior citizens would be relieved at the raising of the tax-exempt limit to Rs 1.95 lakh, as well as the implementing of the reverse mortgage idea.

However, this Budget does not have very much for corporates, hence the big hue and cry.
